Abstract:
This dataset is the Quarter Quad Index 1:12,000 scale for the 3.75 min statewide quadrangle grid with regional topology for 7.5 min, 30 min x 6 degree, and 1 degree x 2degree quads.
Purpose: Index for users to identify quarter quads.
Supplemental_Information:
April 2001: Some updates and changes were made to the quad names. The purpose of the changes is to make the names more descriptive and to increase clarity. This included dropping the 2-letter state name attachment for adjacent states, spelling out the full name of the quad and replacing abstract quad names (e.g. Okeechobee 4 SE to Barley Barber Swamp). All changes to the dataset was made on April 5, 2001. In 1996 this dataset was reprojected from Stateplane Feet, East Zone 1701, NAD27 to Universal Transverse Mercator Meters, North Zone 17, NAD83 with the 1990 correction. This projection process required that new quad box layers be developed because of the south-westerly shift of approximately 100 to 140 feet inherent in the NAD27 to NAD83-90 conversion.
