Abstract:

The files in this directory together comprise the Photointerpretation Key (PI Key) for the 2000 Land Cover / Land Use layer of the St. Johns River Water Management District. The PI Key contains general information about the mapping methods, mapping conventions, and the classification system used to produce the 2000 LCLU layer. The classification system is derived from the Florida Land Use and Cover Classification System (FLUCCS).

Purpose:

The PI Key is designed for two groups of people - photointerpreters who create the maps from aerial photography; and those who use the data (users). Both need to know how the FLUCCS classes are defined, as precisely as possible. For this purpose, the PI Key is set up as an on-line system with easy-access descriptions, including aerial and ground photos of each class.

For users external to the SJRWMD: To use the entire SJRWMD 2000 Land Use Land Cover Photointerpretation Key, download all files in the download directory. Then open the file keylist.html. All links to the individual key pages as well as a link to a detailed Users Guide are contained in keylist.html. To view only specific classes, download keylist.html to obtain a listing of all classes and their numeric class codes (e.g. 1100); then download just the pages for that class number (e.g. 1100.html, 1100.jpg, and 1100d.jpg).
